In a major step toward restructuring and simplifying the UG admissions in India, the CUET Exam was introduced in the academic year 2022-23 with the idea of “One Entrance for admissions across a plethora of courses and Institutes”.
Since its inception, 250+ universities, including 45 central universities and 37 state universities, are expected to participate in the CUET 2024. To get admitted to any of these coveted universities, aspiring students have to fill out the CUET form and take the exam.

CUET (UG) age limit:

  • To appear for the CUET (UG) - 2024, there will be NO age limit for the aspirants. Aspirants who have passed their 12th Boards/equivalent examination
    or
    Appearing in 2024, irrespective of their age, can appear for CUET 2024.

However, the aspirants must take serious note that they will be required to fulfil the age criteria (if any) of the specific university or college they aspire to join for their Undergraduate program.

Educational Qualification (CUET 2024 UG):

All the aspirants must note that to apply for CUET 2024, they need to pass the class 12 Board exam from any recognised Board. Students who are appearing for the Boards in the same year can apply for the exam as well. Mere pass marks would be sufficient to apply for CUET 2024.

CUET Eligibility Criteria 2024: Key Points

  • Every university participating in CUET 2024 is free to set its own set of criteria while taking admission.
  • Full weightage will be given to the CUET scores for admission into any university participating in CUET 2024. Mere pass marks in the class 12 Board exam would suffice.
  • In the official announcement by NTA, CUET 2024 eligibility criteria do not mention an age limit. However, Universities are free to decide on minimum and maximum age limits for admissions to all (or any) of the UG programs.
  • For admission, the existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservation, qualification, subject combinations, preferences, etc., of the respective University shall be applicable. However, all the central universities have to follow the guidelines of the MoE and UGC for admitting students.
  • The CUET eligibility criteria 2024 for admission is expected to be unique for every University. The aspirants are advised to visit the respective University website for university-specific eligibility criteria. The same can also be accessed on the official website of CUET.

Reservation policy: CUET 2024

Among 250+, 45 Central universities will be participating in CUET 2024. The central universities have been established under an Act of Parliament, and each of these 45 universities must follow the norms of reservation policy set by the Government of India.

The section below offers you information related to the reservation policy and relaxation that will be given to the various (SC/ST, OBC, PwD, etc.) category students.

Following is the break-up of the reservation policy followed by the CUET participating universities:
