CUET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

CUET 2024 Eligibility Criteria are guidelines laid out by the NTA that applicants must follow when completing the CUET Application Form. All aspirants for CUET 2024 must familiarise themselves with these criteria. However, the CUET Eligibility Criteria for CUET 2024 are only for CUET Form Filling and entry into the examination hall.

  • Each university participating in CUET 2024 is free to set its own set of eligibility criteria for admission.
  • Total weightage will be given to the CUET Scores for admission to any university participating in CUET 2024.
  • CUET 2024 Eligibility Criteria do not mention an age limit. However, universities are free to decide on minimum and maximum age limits.
  • For admission, the existing policies regarding quota, category, relaxation, reservation, qualification, subject combinations, and preferences of the respective universities shall be applicable. However, all Central Universities must follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) for admitting students.
  • The CUET Eligibility Criteria 2024 for admission is expected to be unique for every university. Aspirants are advised to visit the university website for university-specific eligibility criteria or the official website of CUET to access the same.

CUET 2024 Application Form

CUET Application Form 2024 has been released on 26 February 2024. Aspirants must be alert and follow all the announcements from the NTA regarding CUET 2024. Since the CUET Form has been released, all aspiring students are required to visit the official website of CUET and register themselves first to fill in the CUET 2024 Application Form. According to the marking scheme for the CUET 2024 Exam, for every correct response, an aspirant will get +5 marks, while each incorrect response will incur a deduction of -1 mark. However, there will be no negative marking for unanswered or marked for review questions.

CUET 2024 Syllabus

The CUET Syllabus in the first two editions of the exam remained exactly the same. For CUET 2024, as of now, NTA has not announced any changes to the CUET Syllabus. The CUET Syllabus for the Domain-Specific Subjects will be the same as the NCERT Syllabus for Class 12. However, it is worth noting that not all educational boards cover the entire NCERT Class 12 syllabus. Therefore, aspirants should be prepared to make an extra effort to bridge any potential gap and aim for excellence in CUET 2024. A candidate's Class 12 marks are not considered beyond meeting the minimum eligibility requirement. However, every university can set its own eligibility criteria for admissions. So, candidates should check the criteria of each individual university in which they are interested.

The CUET 2024 exam will be structured into three sections: Languages, Domain-Specific Subjects, and General Test. The Language Section is further divided into two sub-parts – Section IA, consisting of 13 Languages, and Section IB, consisting of 20 Languages.

There are no restrictions on the number of attempts that candidates can make. However, the candidates should prepare well and give their best effort on the initial attempt. If they do not qualify on the first try, they can make subsequent attempts.
